Appli-Tec’s COVID-19 Policy

by on March 20, 2020

Update: May 18, 2020

Appli-Tec, based in New Hampshire, is an essential business per order of the Governor. As such, we’re open for business and fully operational.

Beginning the week of March 20, when the Governor implemented the state’s stay-at-home order, Appli-Tec implemented the COVID-19 policy outlined below.

Our number one mandate to all employees was: “Do not bring the virus into the building.”

Over the past 60 days, we have maintained a virus-free workplace. Due to stringent adherence of our policy and to OSHA and CDC protocols, we have seen the following:

  • 41% decrease in people being out sick – Due to twice daily sanitation, asking those with colds or other issues to stay at home, and requiring everyone to wash their hands when entering the building, Appli-Tec is now a much healthier and cleaner environment.
  • Cross-training and back-up plans – Based on an internal analysis, we determined our vulnerabilities in case someone fell ill, and cross-trained employees while creating back-up plans. The result has been a much stronger and well-prepared team.
  • A positive impact through our company culture – Coming together for a common purpose galvanized everyone to stay positive and to help each other through this challenging time.

As New Hampshire continues with its phased re-opening, we’ll continue to adhere to State regulations and guidance regarding manufacturing companies.

Thank you to our customers and vendors for relying on Appli-Tec for your frozen adhesive and potting needs.

COVID-19 Policy

1. To keep the company open and operational during the coronavirus pandemic.
2. To keep employees safe and healthy.

1. Extensive cleaning and sanitizing of the company.
2. People washing hands and sanitizing bathrooms at regular intervals.
3. Ask people who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, or know they’ve been exposed to COVID-19, to stay home until tested.

Extensive cleaning and sanitizing of company

The company will be cleaned by the cleaning company on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Daily at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, teams of employees will disinfect key surfaces (bathrooms, kitchen, pushplates, etc.) in the facility. Each work center should be disinfected throughout the day.

People washing hands and sanitizing bathrooms

When employees enter the company, they are expected to wash their hands immediately. After each bathroom use, they need to disinfect the toilet handle and faucet handles.

Ask people who are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, or know they’ve been exposed to COVID-19, to stay at home until tested.

Appli-Tec has instructed employees who have been exposed to COVID-19 to stay home and get tested. Official exposure includes: An employee has been in contact with someone who confirms they have tested positive, or the employee has received official word from a medical professional, an event attended, child’s school, etc. of exposure. Employees are asked to send documentation if it exists.
