Bonding, Staking & Tacking
Depending on the application, adhesives can be used to create a permanent or temporary bond:
Bonding: Used to permanently join solid materials together.
Staking: Used to affix objects such as wires or components to a carrying surface so that the system will resist environmental stresses (i.e., vibration, fluid immersion or rugged handling).
Tacking: Used to temporarily affix a component to a surface for the duration of a manufacturing process.
