Appli-tec is a leading provider of adhesives, sealants and encapsulants to companies in the aerospace, computer, defense, microelectronics and medical industries, many of which are among the Fortune 500.
The company provides custom formulation to satisfy the demands of unique applications, which include a wide range of criteria such as electrical and thermal conductivity, strength and rheology. Appli-tec�s product line includes UV-curable and multi-component acrylates, epoxies, polyurethanes, polysulfides and silicones.
Appli-tec also provides full-service specialty packaging to accommodate temperature- and light-sensitive materials. Its product line includes pre-portioned frozen syringes; multi-component pouches and cartridges of non-reacted material; and large-volume containers. In addition to proprietary formulations, the company packages adhesives from sources designated by end users.
The company offers an array of specialty services as well that include encapsulation and potting; casting, slicing, lapping and CNC machining; bonding, staking and tacking; and cryogenic storage.
Appli-tec was founded in 1983 by Tom Walsh, formerly a product and sales manager at Chomerics and a product development chemist in the Silicone Products Dept. of General Electric. In addition to 22 years of experience in the chemical adhesives industry, Walsh brought to Appli-tec a well-developed quality management philosophy and system, which were further refined to accommodate the ISO-9001 quality management standard. When Walsh retired in 1999, his vision of �on time, every time and defect free� was embraced by the company�s new leaders, Timothy Walsh and Michael Platts. Throughout the company�s 26-year history, its high-precision processing and packaging methods have ensured uniformity and consistent performance. Due to advanced testing capabilities and self-imposed quality standards, Appli-tec delivers products that meet�and more often, exceed�the customer�s specifications. In Sept. of 2006, Appli-tec moved to a new manufacturing facility in Salem, New Hampshire. The 20,000-square-foot building increased the company�s production areas by 50 percent. With a view toward controlled expansion, the company is continuously upgrading its infrastructure with state-of-the-art production and testing equipment.
